“Ugo Ehiogu scored for England against Spain in 2001, in Sven-Goran Eriksson's first match as manager”

The former defender suffered a heart attack yesterday at Tottenham's training ground, where he was working as the club's under-23 coach.

Ehiogu enjoyed a great career at the top level of football in Britain, earning four England caps and representing Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Rangers, Leeds and West Brom.

He won the League Cup three times - twice with Aston Villa and once with Middlesbrough, and memorably scored for the Three Lions against Spain in 2001, in Sven-Goran Eriksson's first match as England boss.
