Swimmer drops camera below ocean’s surface – almost gets EATEN when gigantic beast appears

A heart-stopping video – seen above – starts with the diver bobbing on top of the ocean’s surface.

He then moves his camera below and this is when the beast appears.

A gigantic blue whale emerges out of the dark of the sea and comes within metres of where he is floating.

Luckily, the creature did not have its massive mouth open – so the swimmer managed to escape getting totally swallowed.

But that didn’t stop hundreds of terrified users commenting their new-found fears after watching the clip, since it was posted to social media site Reddit on Tuesday (April 18).

“And this is why I don't go out to sea,” one wrote.

Another commented: “This is the most terrifying thing I've seen.”
